Whenever couples ask me where they should elope if they want something very wild and peaceful at the same time, I always tell them the Azores and they never regret.

Sete Cidades

It’s probably the most famous landscape in the Azores, and you’re gonna understand why very easily. There, you’ll find two massive volcanic lakes that sit inside a giant crater, one deep blue and the other emerald green.

When you’re looking at it from above, it feels unreal. Imagine saying your vows to each other while looking over that vast landscape! Crazy right?

Boca do Inferno Viewpoint

Boca to Inferno is one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Sao Miguel. From there, you can see multiple lakes surrounded by green volcanic ridges.

If you’re lucky, you will maybe see it when it’s the most magical, when the clouds move through the valleys below. The scenery changes every few minutes, which makes it an incredible place for pictures!

Lagoa do Fogo

It translates to ”Lake of Fire” in English, but the atmosphere is quite the opposite, very calm and peaceful.

It’s located high in the mountains so it’s sooo relaxing to just sit there and enjoy the view.

Furnas

It’s a very unique place because you can see steam that rises from the earth and volcanic lakes that reflect the surrounding hills.

If you love places that are a little wild and different from the others, I really advise you to consider eloping in Furnas.

Flores Island

Flores Island is famous for its waterfalls, green landscapes and cliffs and honestly when you go there, you really feel like it’s God’s creation.

It’s a really magical place and you feel like you’re in another world when you’re there.

Miradouro do Portal

This place offers insane views of the coast and the cliffs. I really encourage you to just stand there and watch what’s in front of you. You’ll thank me later 🙂
