Pico do Arieiro

It’s one of the most famous viewpoints in Madeira, and for a good reason!! Go at sunrise and you’ll be able to stand above the clouds, it’s magical.

Whenever I imagine photographing an elopement here, I picture a couple surrounded by mountains with the sun slowly rising above the clouds. It’s one of the most magical landscapes on the island.

Stairway to Heaven (PR1 Trail)

It’s one of the most famous hikes in Europe. If you’re dreaming of an adventurous elopement with epic views, this location is made for you!!

Seixal Beach

It’s one of my favorite beaches in Madeira. For me, it’s completely different from typical European beaches, it’s surrounded by lush green cliffs, and its sand is black and volcanic.

I loooove it and it’s perfect for couples that want an elopement without hiking, only relaxing on the beach.

Cascata dos Anjos

You maybe already saw it all over social media because this waterfall is so original and unique. It’s different from all the waterfalls you ever saw since it falls directly onto a coastal road before flowing into the ocean.

As a photographer, locations like this are my favorites because they feel soo different from anything else.

Risco Waterfall

It’s a very tall and impressive waterfall. It’s located in the lush Rabacal valley, and its landscape is very peaceful and calm, with only the sound of the water.

If you love waterfalls and green landscapes, this location is extremely magical.

Porto Moniz Natural Pools

The natural lava pools of Porto Moniz are one of Madeira’s most famous natural attractions. You can see the waves from the Atlantic crash against the volcanic rocks while you’re relaxing in the calm pools.

It’s a spectacular and unique place for photos especially at sunset.

Botanical Gardens of Madeira

These botanical gardens are located in Funchal and they offer a completely different atmosphere from the wild landscapes of the island.

You can find colorful flowers, tropical plants, and beautiful terraces overlooking the ocean. It’s sooo romantic!

Ponta de Sao Lourenco

It’s a very iconic landscape in Madeira. It’s different from the other spots because it’s not green, it’s more rugged and desert-like.

As a photographer, I love how cinematic this place feels, especially at sunset.

Tips for eloping in Madeira

Madeira is incredibly popular, especially during the summer months. Whenever I plan or photograph a session in places like this, I always recommend choosing sunrise or sunset so that you can avoid most of the crowds.
